Life as a Symphony
To live life as a symphony is to understand that you are a part of something greater. Much like an orchestra collaborates to create an aesthetically pleasing piece of music, each person has a role to play and a part to complete for a communal betterment of life. We are all living a harmonized life, intertwined in a grand composition that is filled with beautiful highs and tragic lows. All of our experiences, moments of joy and pain, of love and healing, are all steps in a kaleidoscopic journey constituted by us all.
A collective Symphony
When understood in this manner, life is no longer only an individualized venture, but instead a collective symphony. Taking the perspective of a symphony, it naturally follows that everyone be accountable to the same whole. When playing your part in this grand musical piece, it is essential to understand the value of being self-aware and mindful of your actions. Every individual has a unique role, what is it that you are meant to accomplish? To identify your purpose, it’s essential to be attuned to who you are and what you stand for. Contrary to popular belief, this goes beyond material values or physical achievements.
Playing to our purpose
By consistently being attuned to our unique inner-motivations, we can better align our playing to our purpose. Our values are the fundamentals on which our role is built, therefore living according to them is what will come to characterise our part in this symphony. To play this role with impact, we must remain connected, not only with our reasons behind it, but also with those around us. What are the objectives of everyone in the space and how can you use your own piece to contribute?
When playing your part, don’t be afraid to question societal norms that have been set in stone. Practices that have been accepted with ease should be revisited, assessed, and reviewed regularly. We all have important opinions and these opinions should be shared and spoken openly rather than suppressed and hidden. Constant guidance can come from what others have established, however, to truly add value we must be willing to bring innovation and new perspectives. Such changes are the ingredients of a good symphony; those elements that suddenly transform a piece from being good to great.
Orchestra
This symphony of life is a chaotic encounter in which we play our unique parts. It’s a collaboration that requires patience and careful orchestration. Yet herein lies an important reminder, life is dedicated to continuity, and as long as you find essence in the journey, you will live your part with purpose. You will be truly connected, awake, fulfilled and contributing in earnest. Ultimately, you will be playing amidst a moving rendition of beauty, understanding that your part completes the composition that is everyone’s life.
