A Birthday Letter to my Son
My dearest son,
As you enter into this seventh year of life, I want you to know how proud I am of the young man you are becoming. I can already see how big and strong you have grown in all aspects: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Every day, I am reminded of the love, joy, and enthusiasm that you bring to me and to those around you.
You have a natural curiosity and desire to learn, and your eagerness fills me with admiration. My heart swells with pride as I witness the wisdom and understanding that comes with your new-found knowledge. Watching you grow and become more self-reliant fills me with a sense of calm assurance.
As you take your next steps into the future, I want you to know that I will be there holding your hand, every step of the way. That no matter what life throws your way, you have an unending reservoir of strength and courage to draw from. I will never be too far away to lend a helping hand or provide guidance and support, when needed.
I feel immense love when I look into your eyes and see the sadness, worry and concern that you carry around on occasion. I want you to know that it is okay to feel and express your emotions, and that it is ultimately a sign of true strength. Difficult moments will come, but I want you to remember that you can always turn to me for comfort and assurance. That my love and support for you is never-ending and I will be here for you whenever you need me.
Remember that I will always be right here, like a hug in times of sadness, a pat on the back in times of triumph, and a shoulder to cry on in moments of disappointment.
Know that no matter what the future brings, I am here with you and we are in this together, finding comfort in the bond of our unyielding love and trust.
All my love,
Dad
